However, “How Stuff Works”, lists chocolate as one of the top 5 foods that make us happy. And according to Forbes, unhappy employees outnumber happy ones — two to one. So what can we do?! Celebrate all the food holidays!

We  told you all about the food holidays in December (you can find them here or below). Today we are going to walk you through some of our favorite food holidays to spark fun activities for office engagement  in January. To see more food holidays click here.

Here are a 8 food holidays, listed by Holiday Insights, for the month of December. Add some chocolate to each to make your employees happy.

December 9 - National Pastry Day

Make sure to pick out a few pastries that are filled with chocolate.

December 13 - Ice Cream Day

A build-your-own sundae bar is a wonderful lunch time activity that is sure to be overloaded with chocolate choices.

December 15 - National Lemon Cupcake Day

Serve coffee and chocolate biscotti along side these lemon cupcakes, and you’re sure to have a crowd winner.

December 16 - National Chocolate Covered Anything Day

Swing by your local candy store and pick up anything covered in chocolate. Your team is sure to love the variety.

December 18 - Bake Cookies Day

Pick up some chocolate chip cookies or for a more engaging activity, start a cookie exchange. Everyone can bring in their favorite cookie recipe and soon everyone will be having a great time!

December 22 - National Date Nut Bread Day

Sneak chocolate into this holiday activity by having a small hot chocolate bar with dessert. Pick up some different flavored marshmallows or shapes for people to put into their hot chocolate this year.

December 24 - National Egg Nog Day

Now your office may not be open on Christmas Eve, and more than likely it isn’t. So celebrate Egg Nog Day a day early! This holiday staple is best served with a cookie or two.

December 27 - National Fruitcake Day

Now fruitcake may not be a real crowd winner so accompany this with some wrapped chocolate candies.

The best part about random food holidays, they are so easy to prepare for. All of these 8 holidays can be celebrated by a quick stop at your local grocery store. Celebrating 8 holidays in one month can be a bit overwhelming so try picking just a few for starters. You can even assign these holidays out to different departments and let them plan the celebrations.
