Humbly dubbed “Queen of the Selfie” I spend quite a bit of time on Instagram. When the new filters and color options came out I was happier than Christmas morning. Instagram is often my go to application in the morning and just before bed — honestly it is my go to for any time of the day.

Make sure that you use an avatar that fits in the circular logo space in your Instagram profile settings. It is important to match your logo with other social media sites that you already have in place so your followers can easily find you.

Fill out your profile. It is important to put in your basic profile information, like your company name. It is even more important to include a link to the page you most frequently want someone to go check out. When posting an image, any link you put in the comments section of a photo will not be clickable. That is why it is so important to include a link to your business in your bio and direct traffic appropriately.

Mix it Up

Your Instagram profile should have a theme — I strongly suggest that your theme be your company. Your posts should provide a variety of information. Instagram is great for posting company blogs or driving people to try your product, but can be used for so much more than that. Try posting fun office outings or local news occasionally to keep your followers more engaged. It can be equally beneficial to share some “behind the scene” moments in your office. You’d be surprised how these small moments will affect your communications plan.
