According to Deloitte’s Global Human Capital Trends 2016, a global survey of more than 7,000 HR and business leaders from 130 countries, employee engagement continues to be a challenge for businesses, with 48 percent of this year’s survey respondents citing it as very important. The demands and expectations of today’s diverse, multigenerational, mobile workforce requires a more flexible, employee-centric work environment, one which companies are just beginning to learn to develop. In this new world of “alwaysconnected” employees, the barriers between work and life have been all but eliminated. Employees are hyper-connected to their jobs through pervasive mobile technology, which can have a negative impact on their productivity and morale.
